These are some pictures of BBQ fun making beer-can-chicken, which we now call beer-butt-chicken. With Judy and Walter who were over from N.Z. along with Albert and Pim.
This is a local festival that started this year. Lots of artists, musicians, and theatre people in our little neighbourhood “buurt”. We had a choir singing at our house.
We had a really nice time on Rob´s birthday with a few friends visiting. We had a really nice time with friends on Rob´s birthday.
It’s been a while since we have posted. The weather is starting to get nicer and the narcissus are blooming. We are both really looking forward to some nice time outdoors again and enjoyed a little sunshine today. Rob is doing well and progressing with his physical rehabilitation. He had […]
It’s been a tough winter here, as it has been for most of you all from what we hear about. We had some of the first Dutch tulips last week, and they really brightened up things. I could not help but think they were a bit more special now that […]
Oops, I had not intended to send the e-mail notification for this post, and hope you don’t mind all our silly gift opening photo’s.
We had a wonderful Christmas with our good friend Albert.
We are very happy that we finally have a stair lift so that Rob can be upstairs. It’s great to be able to use our whole house again and sleep in our own bed. Things are finally getting back to normal again. It was a lot of bureaucracy to arrange, […]
We just returned back after a wonderful vacation in Cyprus. We stayed in Polis, near where Aphrodite was born from the sea. We really did not flirt with her much, because our biggest goal was to chill out and not do much. Rob was really able to enjoy the swimming […]
We just couldn’t resit posting a video of Rob walking. He did this about 7 times on Friday, both forward and backwards. Although Rob is doing this from the power within himself, he is also being helped tremendously by his team. Not least of which is Werner de Haan his […]
We are so happy to tell all of you that today Rob took his first steps walking. We really think this is the start of a whole new era for Rob. Now that he can make the walking motions he should be able to build on them — it’s a […]

We had a wonderful time celebrating our wedding anniversary together on Saturday. We had thought about going away somewhere, but then had what I think was a better idea, and a bit of a surprise for Rob. Rob had not been upstairs at our house since everything happened last summer […]
Recently the physio terapist said it could take some time before Rob can take steps walking. We are a bit disappointed, but on the other hand, are also optimistic he can do it before too long. Rob has started with a “coach” named Patrick Veenhoff from Insightz, that we are […]
We have been busy with many things. Rob’s father Ger has visited and we made a very good start to painting the house. We have also had the help of our neighbour Bert, and slowly we are making progress, despite a lot of rain that delays things. We also celebrated […]
Here are some photo’s of the Round the Island Race Team — Skipper Mick and Crew Ger. The race did not go exactly as planned, because the rudder broke off, but they had a wonderful time. They also look very sporty in their crew t-shirts that Anne made. Also a […]
Rob received a new brace today to help give him support in walking to cross a new bridge. He took some first steps, and we are very hopeful that with a lot of practice, he will get there. Click here to see the video. Many thanks to Dr. Sheepstra, Rob’s […]
