I can’t even keep up with their antics now. I’ll just do some photo’s.
And then….
Jane started her first heat at 7.5 months. It’s really hard trying to keep her and Jansen separated. We have Jane in the crate, but they keep trying to get at each other. I let Jane out and she climbed back in through the window to try to get to Jansen. It is going to be a hard week of keeping them apart.
Things just got a bit more intense with the two of them. Please know that this is no dogaphelia or anything. We are learning as we go, and it is really quite sweet to see them liking each other so much.
Note: We also rotate them in the crate, so it is not only Jane separated, and sometimes Jansen too. It is a bit more chaotic, because she goes to sleep while Jansen cries in the crate.
We did have one incident we are a bit worried about, while I was on a long concall and heard a ruckus, and later learned that Jansen had somehow opened the crate upstairs that Jane was in. Luckily Jane cam running downstairs quickly. Let’s hope that nothing came of that.
After a week of complete chaos, it is finally over. Neither of the dogs are worse for the wear, and they are now the best of friends again. But we are completely knackered after trying to keep them apart all week. Not easy to do with howling hounds and trying to work and do other stuff.
